Abstract

This study examines Forced Migration and its Effects on Infrastructural facilities in Greater Yola. Primary and secondary sources of data were used for the study. Primary data were obtained through the use of questionnaire. While the secondary data include data on school enrolments, electricity consumption and data from Primary Health Care Department of Yola South, Yola North and Girei local government areas on house numbering in Greater Yola. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and paired sample t-test analysis. The result shows that the influx of the displaced people into the study area brought about an increase in electricity consumption and number of school enrolments in the study area. The study recommended that the Government, NGOs and well-to-do individuals should build more schools and more megawatt of electricity be added to the existing one to cushion the pressure on the available schools and electricity facilities in the study area.
